Falls are one of the leading causes of injury among older Kiwis, with approximately one in three people over 65 experiencing a fall each year. The Steady As You Go programme was developed specifically for New Zealand seniors to address this issue through targeted exercise.

The peer-led approach makes SAYGO uniquely effective, as class leaders understand the challenges faced by participants. After a 10-week training period with Age Concern, these leaders facilitate ongoing classes with input from all attendees.
